We Did It!
We took the plunge (literally!) and completed our skydive for The Mental Health Foundation Jumping from 15,000 feet was an exhilarating experience that we’ll never forget. The best part? We did it all to support a cause that's close to our hearts.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated and supported us along the way. Together, we've raised over £3000 for The Mental Health Foundation, helping to make a real difference in the lives of those in need.
Our Wild Jo S enjoyed this way too much, She can't wait to go again!
So proud of Clare, she took the leap and loved every moment of it!
Definitely a once in a lifetime jump for Jo D, loved it but wont be doing it again!
Congratulations to our very own Zoe and Nicole who took on the Trek 26 Stonehenge Challenge. Walking a whopping 26 miles to raise money and awareness for The Alzheimer's Society. Raising almost £900 for such a worthy cause. Well Done Ladies, we are all very proud of you both!!
As Remembrance Sunday is approaching we have obtained Poppies via a donation for all our customers that are unable to go out so they can still wear their Poppy with pride this coming weekend.
We know that to this generation tradition is very important and we are keen to assist with traditions where we can.
We had a carer ask if we could do a Christmas Raffle so we have decided to have one for the carers and one for the customers, top prize a Christmas Hamper and then a few Christmas themed bottles and treats. All Proceeds will be donated to St Christophers Hospice.
Raffle Tickets will be on sale from Monday 6th November tickets will be £2 a strip or 3 strips for £5. The draws will take place on Wednesday 20th December.
The Parkfield Panthers paid us a visit delivering Christmas Presents.
The first of our carers received their Covid-19 Vaccination on 13th January 2021.
The children of Parkfield Panthers FC held a raffle in the lead up to Christmas and with the money raised they purchased a small gift for each of our customers in appreciation for our sponsorship.
A massive Thank You to them all for their kind gesture. In what has been a lonely year for a lot of our customers this brought smiles to a lot of faces.
For Christmas Jumper Day 2020, we asked our carers and customers to dig out their festive jumpers to raise money and awareness for the Save The Children Charity
We realise that Christmas can be a very lonely time for some people so Tucare decided to hold a Christmas afternoon Tea in West Wickham to which we sent out an open invitation to the residents of Bromley.
Tucare continues to help the local community and has partnered with the Bromley Dementia Hub to host the Bromley Dementia Conference 2019; to bring awareness to the local community and discussing important topics relating to Dementia.
Tucare sponsored the event and invited keynote speaker Hillary Doxford who is our Registered Managers cousin and a Global ambassador for The World Dementia Council to discuss ‘living with Dementia’ sharing her own life experiences and providing guidance as she was diagnosed with Dementia in her 40s.
Tucare are the current sponsors for the Parkfield Panthers under 9s football shirt.
The Parkfield Panthers is a football club that helps introduce children to football in a fun environmentEstablished in 2018, The Parkfield Panthers have grown from a few children having a kick around with their dad’s at the local park, to a football club which now runs teams in 3 different age groups. Located at Petts Wood Rec, both boys and girls are introduced to the nations favourite sport, in a fun and friendly environment. Although we understand competitiveness is important within sport, our ethos is based upon coaching the children in the basic and fundamental skills of football, which in turn will allow their abilities and confidence to grow alongside their understanding of the game.
The Panthers have got involved in community projects as well, they donated christmas presents to Tucare for us to distribute to our customers who do not have any family so they too would have something to open on Christmas Day. They also joined the rest of the country in supporting all key workers and NHS staff during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
We realised during such a challenging time many Bromley residents needed additional support due to loss of income or children being home and not having access to school meals. In light of this the Tucare team pulled together and made a group donation to the Bromley Food Bank.
The Bromley Borough Foodbank provides emergency food supplies for those who are dealing with a financial crisis or who are locked in poverty. Their voucher scheme partnership with referral agencies enables them to provide better support as they work together to increase their understanding of those who require their support.
